After years living across Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Netherlands and Romania, he saw how speaking the local language changes everything: the people you meet, the places you're let into, the life you can build there. He founded Beyond Italian on that idea: learning Italian shouldn't feel like going back to school, it should feel like finding your way into the country you love. His students learn fast. Complete beginners have become comfortably conversational in less than six months, and many have come to visit him in Sicily.

Originally from Milan, Alessandra brings a truly international perspective to Italian language and culture. Having lived in the United States, Jakarta, and now Melbourne, she understands both the excitement and the challenges of connecting with a new country and way of life. With a degree in International Business Relations and a background in international hospitality, she has travelled extensively across Italy, building a deep knowledge of its regional cuisine, local wines, traditions, and people. Warm, curious, and naturally engaging, she helps students experience Italian beyond grammar, through real conversation, cultural insight, and the everyday details that make Italy feel alive.

Luigi is a native Italian speaker with an international background shaped by living and working in France, Japan, and Australia. He studied foreign languages at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and has worked as a chef for over ten years. Passionate about Italian culture and history, Luigi enjoys bringing both into his lessons through natural conversation, real-life experiences, and meaningful cultural insights. His warm personality and global perspective help students feel comfortable, curious, and confident while learning Italian.

Islem is a native Italian speaker who has been living in Melbourne for the past two years. She helps students learn Italian in a simple, enjoyable way, with lessons built around speaking, everyday conversation, and the expressions people actually use, rather than grammar alone. Whether her students are learning for travel, work, or simply out of love for the language and culture, she helps them feel genuinely confident when they speak, shaping every lesson around their level and their goals.

Elena is a native Italian speaker from Veneto who studied in Venice and now lives in Melbourne.
