Our story

Daniele is an Italian language coach from Sicily, with a deep belief that language is the most meaningful way to understand a culture and feel part of it.
After spending many years living across Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and Romania, he experienced first-hand how learning the local language can change the way you connect with people, places, and everyday life. Wherever he lived, he carried Sicily and Italian culture with him, sharing its language, traditions, food, stories, and way of living with the people he met.
For the past five years, Daniele has taught Italian online to students from around the world. Those experiences shaped the philosophy behind Beyond Italian: people learn best when they feel comfortable, understood, and free to make mistakes. His sessions are personal and informal, built on real conversation rather than the pressure and distance of a traditional classroom.
And the method works. The first twelve weeks build the foundation, and students who continue with ongoing coaching, including complete beginners in their sixties and seventies, become comfortably conversational in about six months, holding real conversations with locals rather than reciting textbook phrases.
Many of his students have become genuine connections. Some have even visited him in Sicily, where Daniele and his local network helped them experience a side of Italy that most visitors never see.
Beyond Italian grew from that idea: learning Italian should not feel like going back to school. It should feel like finding your way into the culture, building real relationships, and becoming more connected to the Italy you love.
